Our History

William B. Bitting started the agency in 1943 with a contract with Nationwide Mutual Insurance company. On December 17, 1945, William moved the business to Federal Mutual Insurance Company located in Decatur, Ill. William B. Bitting represented not only Federal Mutual but also, Lititz Mutual, Farmers Mutual of Orwigsburg.

Ray M. Bitting, son of William, purchased the business on February 15, 1966. Ray M. Bitting continued to sell insurance, teach full time and farm. Around 1963, Federal Mutual Insurance Company was purchased by Kemper Corporation and the name changed to Federal Kemper Insurance Company. In 1979, Gregory R. Bitting (son of Ray) and Steve Orris (son-in-law of Ray) joined the business as sales personnel. In May of 1992, the Agency became a partnership. Currently the Ray M. Bitting Insurance Agency represents 20+ companies.

Meet Our Staff

	Greg Bitting - Owner/Partner with over 20 years experience in the Insurance Business. Greg is the son of Ray Bitting whom has retired from the Insurance Business a few years ago. Greg can help you with all lines of Insurance.
	Steve Orris – Owner/Partner with over 20 years experience in the Insurance Business. Steve is the son-in-law of Ray Bitting. Steve has a brokers license and can help you with all lines of Insurance.
	Gerald Gerber – Producer. Operates our Dover, Pa. Branch office. Gerry handles all lines of insurance and would be happy to give you a quote the next time your policy comes up for renewal.
